Matthijs de Ligt is basically, now, a medical and a contract signing away from officially being a Juventus player.
It’s been a rather long and interesting few weeks as there have been reports that Juventus and de Ligt had agreed to a five-year contract worth €12 million a season.
The starting bid from Juventus started in low €50 million-plus range, which was quickly upped to €67 million.
But now a deal has been agreed between Juventus and Ajax for the young centre-back.
de Ligt won’t be travelling with Ajax squad to Austria. Instead, his next destination is almost certainly Turin.
