In the tvN Korean drama “Arthdal Chronicles” Season 2 broadcast on the 8th, the scene where the confrontation between King Tagon (played by Jang Dong Gun), High Priestess Tanya (Shin Se Kyung), and Queen Tae Al Ha (Kim Ok Bin) of Arthdal is taking place is revealed, and a strange atmosphere is detected, foreshadowing another bloodbath.
Tagon realises that the prophecy of the goddess, “Three children, symbolised by a sword, a bell and a mirror, will be born at the same time and will eventually end this world,” means his own destruction.
Then he said to the high priest Tanya, who corresponded to the bell, “I look at that sword and I see my destiny as if I were looking into a mirror. Oh, and you have that bell, the star bell of Arth, don’t you?” he said, as if to warn her.
Tagon shocked everyone with a horrifying turn of events, ordering the capture of all males born in the Year of the Wolf, the year of the prophesied children, and cutting off the ears of his loyalists who asked for them. Tagon’s transformation has opened the gates of hell to Arthdal. In the midst of everyone’s panic, Tagon organises a feast, and the palace is once again in turmoil.
In the released images, Tagon is shown in a mildly mocking mood in a grand banqueting hall filled with wine and food. In contrast, the expressions of High Priestess Tanya and Empress Tae Al Ha are more sombre than ever.
It is here, in the eerie silence of the banquet, that Tagon, Tanya, and Tae Al Ha explode into a conflict like no other.
With Tagon’s words threatening to unleash a bloodbath, the question arises as to the reason for the banquet. It will be interesting to see what kind of attitude he will have in the face of the prophecy that threatens him, as he was willing to slaughter to hide his identity as an Igt.
