FC Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi‘s relationship with the club has soured lately, with him being quite vocal about it over the past few months.
The Argentine first sparked controversy when he hit back at the club’s sporting director Eric Abidal who blamed the players for the dismissal of Ernesto Valverde.
Messi’s future at the club has been called into question in recent times. Once understood to be a one-club man, he is now willing to walk out of Camp Nou at the end of this season, as rumors suggest.
“I don’t think it’s a forbidden dream at all. Maybe it wasn’t even before this misfortune,” the former Inter president told Radio Rai [via Football Italia].
“Messi is at the end of his contract and it would certainly be attempted to bring him home. I don’t know if this situation will change anything. But I think we will see strange things at the end of the year.
“He [Lautaro Martinez] is a very good lad, he cares about his career. But as I said before, we have to see if it’s part of an operation for bigger players like Messi.”
