Inter Milan could have snapped up Ronaldo during his Man United days but directors of the club rejected the advice of one of the former director.
Ronaldo is arguably one of the greatest forwards and footballers of all time and has made his mark wherever he goes.
Since joining Juventus in a €100 million deal back in 2018, Ronaldo has been influential on and off the pitch with one Serie A title already to his name.
And while he’s on course to guide Juventus to yet another league title, Mazzola reveals things could have been much different had the club given their full support to his advice when he was still the club director.
“I wanted to bring him to Inter when he was with Manchester United and long before his move to Real Madrid.” Mazzola recalled in an interview with Italian news outlet Twikie.it.
“At the time it was an affordable amount, I proposed his name to the Nerazzurri management but I was not listened to and one of them in particular said he was not worth all that money,”
That director would probably be regretting that statement as Ronaldo has currently grown to be more than just a footballer, but an entire profitable brand on his own.
