Luis Suarez wants Barcelona to show proper ambitions so they improve their chances of keeping Messi at the club.
The Argentine has been rumored to be discontent in Spain and reports even claim he could walk away from the club next summer.
To add to all of that, Barcelona’s performances on the pitch have largely declined and many have linked it to all of the uncertainty surrounding Messi.
It would indeed be a strange sight to see the little magician wearing another jersey but there is a strong possibility it could yet happen.
On and off the pitch, Luis Suarez has developed a close relationship with Messi and has urged the club to show commitment to their captain. He also added that he doesn’t see the 32-year-old playing for another team.
“What he would like is a winning project, an exciting project,’ Suarez said as quoted by ESPN.
“But it’s a situation that he has to manage with his family and, in this case, with his dad, and be conscious of the decision he has to take.”
“I don’t see Messi playing for any other team. Leo will take the decision based on what’s best for him and with his family in mind. Being his friend, I would always recommend that he plays where he feels comfortable and happy.”
“I think the family is really happy in Barcelona and, if he’s happy in Barcelona, then he should continue with Barcelona. If he needs a change, he will know what he needs for his own well-being.”
