Highlights| Arsenal beat Charlton Athletic 6-0 in a friendly today

Eddie Nketiah hit a hat-trick for Arsenal in a friendly today. Aubamayeng, Willock and Lacazette were also on target for the Gunners.

Arsenal faced Charlton Athletic at the Emirates Stadium and came out 6-0 victors. It was their first game in three months after the pandemic caused the leagues around the world to be suspended.

To gain full match fitness all the clubs in the Premier League are allowed to host friendly games in their stadiums or the training ground.

But some rules are to be followed very strictly with the teams not allowed to travel more than 90 minutes for a match and all the players to travel separately.

With these guidelines all the players and staff arrived in their own cars and had to wear their kit beforehand as the locker rooms are still not available. The game was officiating by person from coaching staff of both the clubs.

The first goal in the game was scored by Lacazette with shot from long range later Aubameyang made it 2-0 just before half-time.

The hat-trick of today got his first goal in the second half early from close range. He added another to his tally with a fine finish after being sent through on goal.

The youngster completed his hat-trick with a fine header from a Joe Willock cross. Then Willock got on the score sheet himself scoring from the edge of the box into the top corner.

The game ended 6-0 in favor of Arsenal who face Manchester City in their first match after restart on June 17.

Then on June 20 they travel to Brighton, next they Southampton on 25th June. The Gunners then face Sheffield United in a FA Cup quarter final clash on June 28.
