5. Nelson Semedo (Barcelona to Wolves) – €30m

The most recent arrival to the Premier League, it comes as a surprise that Barcelona let Nelson Semedo leave, considering that he put in impressive performances for them over the past three seasons. At 26, he is yet to reach his peak and in what is an added bonus he will be joining a club which recently put out a first XI of Portuguese internationals past and present.

4. Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina to Chelsea) – €31m

Signed by Chelsea from Fiorentina in 2014, Juan Cuadrado struggled for game time and was eventually sent out on loan to Juventus where he made the transition from a right-winger to a right-back. The Colombian eventually made only 15 appearances for the London based club.

3. Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester City) – €52.7m

In what was money well spent by Manchester City, Kyle Walker has remained one of the best right-backs in the Premier League, with the 30-year-old playing a key role in all of their success in recent past. Despite the arrival of Cancelo, Walker continues to remain first choice for Pep Guardiola and it looks like he will remain to be that for sometime to come.

2. Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace to Manchester United) – €55m

Highly rated in English circles, Aaron Wan-Bissaka proved his worth albeit defensively as he emerged along with Wilfred Ndidi to emerge as the most successful tacklers in the league last season with 129 to his name. The only blot in his game is that he does not provide much going forward and he will definitely need to improve that aspect going forward.

Joao Cancelo became the most expensive right-back in Premier League history when Manchester City splurged €65million to lure the Portugese from Juventus in 2019/20. However, he has not lived up to his price tag as yet as he struggled with the pace of the league, though at 26-years-old he is yet to hit his peak.
