Achraf Hakimi joined Borussia Dortmund on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid in 2018 in search of consistent playing time.
It did not take Hakimi to make his new club aware of his talents as he quickly made a place for himself in their starting XI. Eventually, he established himself as one of Europe’s most sought-after players.
A player blessed with incredible raw pace, the ability to terrorize the opponent defense with great attacking intent, and great crossing skills, he has scored 12 goals and registered 17 assists in 73 games in his BVB career so far.
The fullback is understood to be on the verge of joining Inter Milan. And as his exit from Westfalenstadion draws closer, he has taken out time to send an emotional message to the fans.
Hakimi wrote on Twitter: “The time has come to close a very beautiful stage in my life. After two wonderful years, I’m ready to leave this club that has given me so much joy.
“I also want to thank the wonderful fans who have supported us unconditionally in every game. I’ll never forget the yellow wall (Glebe Wand) which is simply wonderful.
“I hope that one day our paths will cross again. See you soon Borussia Dortmund!”
