Tetrapods are concrete structures developed in France in 1949 to block waves or tsunamis.

They are widely used in coastal construction and range in length from 3 to 5 meters. Larger tetrapods can weigh over 70 tons each.

In 2022, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries classified tetrapods as hazardous areas within harbors and banned access to them.

Violating this rule can result in a fine of 1 million won.

The surface of tetrapods is slippery due to algae and constant contact with seawater, making them easy to slip on.
