Gerard Pique speaks about sharing a dressing room with Ronaldo

Gerard Pique suggests he feels fortunate to have shared a dressing room with Cristiano Ronaldo in the past.

Pique joined Manchester United a year after Ronaldo had signed for the club in 2003.

The pair won three trophies – Champions League, Premier League, and Community Shield – playing alongside each other during their stay at Old Trafford.

Pique moved to Spain in 2008 and Ronaldo followed in his footsteps a year later with the former becoming an FC Barcelona player while the latter joining forces with Real Madrid.

The two former teammates then frequently came against each other in El Clasicos for the next nine years before the Portugal international signed for Juventus.

“I was able to share a dressing room with Cristiano in my early days at Manchester United. It was a great time together and we won titles,” Pique said at Sunday’s Globe Soccer Awards, via Marca, after receiving the Player Career Award.

“The great thing about football is sharing experiences and creating relationships with the players you’ve shared a dressing room with.

“Life continues when we retire and we can say that we were a part of something unique. That’s the most important thing.”
