Kai Havertz and Timo Werner are expected to achieve great numbers up front for the Blues.
The German pair came off the back of successful seasons at their former clubs.
Starring for Leverkusen, Havertz bagged an impressive 12 goals in 30 Bundesliga games from midfield last season.
On the other hand, Werner capped off his final season with RB Leipzig with an impressive 28 goals in 34 appearances. He also marked his exit from the club as their highest goalscorer ever with 95 goals in 159 games.
Hence, it came as no surprise when Chelsea splashed €133m to sign Havertz and Werner.
The pair are familiar with themselves in the Bundesliga and with the German national team.
Frank Lampard hopes their ‘friendship’ off the pitch can help them build a successful partnership at Chelsea.
“I know they are good friends from the German national team, and of a similar age. That will certainly be a help and of course everyone will make him feel as comfortable as possible.”
“With Timo I have found that humility and desire to come here and be a success on the pitch, and I think they could help each other and certainly help the team.” Lampard told the Chelsea website.
“That relationship will be something that I will certainly promote between them, giving them the freedom to work together. That communication on and off the pitch will hopefully help bring the best out of them.”
