“Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale” Writer Reveals The MBTI Of Drama’s Main Characters

The MBTIs of the main characters in “Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale” have been revealed.

TVING’s original series “Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale” (creator Baek Mi-Kyung, writer Yoo Ja, director Kim Min-Kyung), which will premiere on Friday, 31st, is a romantic comedy series about a woman who decides to become Cinderella against the wall of reality and meets a chaebol prince who doesn’t believe in love.

The series promises to be a feast of diverse characters, from a 21st-century Cinderella trying to achieve her desires to an 8th-generation chaebol who doesn’t believe in love, and the writer, Yoo Ja, has introduced the personality types of the characters to spark interest.

“I don’t know where I’m going, I’m romantic, I fall in love quickly, and I’m good at it,” she said, describing the character of Shin Jae-Rim, who wants to ride a white horse to change her reality. “In that sense, I think Jae-Rim is a spirited activist, a sparky ENFP.”

Yoo chose ENTP as the personality type for Moon Cha-Min, the confident eighth-generation chaebol. “Despite his overconfidence, Cha Min is a bit lacking in empathy and doesn’t waste a single word. That’s why he always fights fiercely with Jae Rim over trivial matters, creating sparking chemistry,” she says, adding, “It’s fun to see ENTP Cha Min fall in love and become emotionally vulnerable.”

She also revealed that some characters have changed their MBTIs throughout their lives.

The film director Baek Do-Hong changed from an introvert to an extrovert. “He was originally an I, but as he grew more social, he became an E. He is an ENFJ who is sociable, cares about people, and is good at flirting,” she said, explaining his character’s narrative. He is bright when he is with people, but becomes sensitive and complex when he is alone.

Finally, I gave the character of Ban Dan-Ah, the fiancée of Moon Cha-Min, an ESTP. She is a down-to-earth person who enjoys the thrill of life, but also has no preconceived notions and is a cool type. Yoo Ja expressed that Ban Dan-Ah is the easiest to live with among the characters, saying, “She is selfish but simple and lovely, so I always find her cute,” and she is looking forward to meeting the sweet and feisty princess.

“Every character has something that is lacking,” Yoo says, “and it’s cute to see how they love each other. It will be cute to see how these people love each other.” “All the characters are charming, so it will be fun to watch them, so please look forward to it,” Yoo said.

The TVING original series “Dreaming of a Freaking Fairytale” will release episodes 1 and 2 on Friday, the 31st of May.
