After receiving a £41.3 million proposal from Newcastle United on Monday, Eden Hazard has rejected down a return to the Premier League.
Hazard has dropped down the pecking order at Real Madrid, and he has been linked with a move this summer.
Since joining Los Blancos in a big-money deal from Chelsea in 2019, the Belgian has had a miserable season. He has just 59 appearances for the club, scoring five goals and assisting on ten occasions.
Newcastle made a bid for the 31-year-old, which Madrid is said to have approved. Hazard, on the other hand, turned down the offer because he wants to join a “major player” and does not see the Magpies as a feasible alternative. (Source: El Nacional)
Hazard’s lack of playing time at Real Madrid made Belgium coach Roberto Martinez “sad” in November, according to Martinez.
“Hazard is in the finest medical shape of his life since arriving at Real Madrid.
“In football terms, he’s sorry; this is the first time he’s been in this scenario.”
“He is a player who has always led successful ventures; he no longer does, but he is a footballer of tremendous potential, and that is never lost; you must have trust in him.”(Source: Metro)
