Cristiano Ronaldo wins IFFHS Top Goalscorer award for 2019

As if Cristiano Ronaldo didn’t have enough awards already. He received today the fifth International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) Top Goalscorer award of his career.

Other players with more than one award of this nature have only two, Ronaldo already has five. This prize finally got delivered today after scoring a total of 21 goals for Portugal and for Juventus in International Competition during 2019. During the same year, the Portugal skipper competed against other incredible international players.

Harry Kane was a close second with his 19 goals scored for England & Spurs throughout that year. Raheem Sterling scored 17 with the Three Lions & Man City . And Robert Lewandowski reached 16 with Poland and Bayern Munich.

But Ronaldo’s number only adds up to the impressive run he is having as a veteran 36-year-old player. As far as we know, the 2020 award from IFFHS won’t be delivered due to the global pandemic and a lack of international activity.
