It’s safe to say 2020 wasn’t Ronaldo’s favorite year either. A competitive athlete like the Juventus player must’ve hated to be off the pitch as much as we hated to spend months without hearing his iconic celebration.
Nevertheless, Cristiano awarded us with 28 goals since football came back in the summer.
It’s clear that no pandemic can keep the 35-year-old from doing what he loves most.
As the year came to an end, Ronaldo decided to share a message of hope to inspire those who are currently facing any type of struggle.
Naturally, the Portugal captain spoke about Covid-19 and how 2021 will be a year of recovery.
“2020 was not an easy year, there’s no doubt about it. No one can be indifferent to the pain and suffering that COVID-19 brought upon the world,” said Cristiano. “But now it’s time to bounce back and show that, together, we can make a difference. Because no matter how hard is the fall, what really defines us is the way we get back on our feet and how fast we are ready to face new obstacles.”
Additionally, the Juve forward inspired his fans to come together and help make the world better in these challenging times.
“Let’s try to turn 2021 into a turning point, a new beginning, a fresh start. Because all of us – and I do mean all of us – can still become better versions of ourselves. And if we do it all together, that might actually be the secret to turn things around for the better.”
