In particular, viewers said that “My Dearest” maximised their enjoyment of the various stories in which three-dimensional characters with different narratives and charms met against the backdrop of the historical event of Byeongja Horan. Nam Yeon Joon (Lee Hak Joo), a kind-hearted man, Kyung Eun Hae (Lee Da In), a wise and compassionate woman, and Ryang Eum (Kim Yoon Woo), a mysterious man. Add to this the blue-cloaked Gak Hwa (Lee Cheong Ah), who made a strong impression at the end of Part 1, and expectations are high for what they will do in Part 2.

On the 6th, the production team of “My Dearest” released the character posters for Nam Yeon Joon, Kyung Eun Hae, Ryang Eum, and Gak Hwa for Part 2.

"My Dearest" released the character posters for Nam Yeon Joon, Kyung Eun Hae, Ryang Eum, and Gak Hwa for Part 2.

Firstly, Nam Yeon Joon is portrayed as a more straightforward figure, which attracts attention. His shining eyes and tightly pressed lips show his strong will. The copy, “If I can erase the traces of Qing soldiers from the land of Korea… I want to give my soul,” shows his stronger passion.

Kyung Eun Hae’s growth into a strong woman is also impressive. From being a flowery girl in Part 1, Kyung Eun Hae has grown and grown and grown, going through numerous crises as the sickly Horan. This is evidenced by her determined eyes and expression in the character poster for Part 2. The caption, “The West… go your own way,” symbolises her uprightness as she stands by Nam Yeon Joon’s side, supporting and protecting him.

In addition, Ryang Eum’s tears of maternal love steal the show. At the side of Lee Jang Hyun (Nam Goong Min), Ryang Eum looks only at him. At the end of Part 1, Ryang Eum sheds these sad tears because he and Lee Jang Hyun have taken different paths. “Can’t we… just go back to the way things were before we met her?” shows his feelings for Lee Jang Hyun and his resentment towards Yoo Gil Chae (Ahn Eun Jin).

Finally, the new characterisation stands out. In Part 1, the character who was only depicted as a ‘blue mask’ was named Gak Hwa. In the character poster, you can feel the intense charisma in her eyes, and she says, “I am. I can’t let the man I want to have be taken away by another woman”, it can be predicted that she is the same “Bok Byung” who will make a big difference in the love between Lee Jang Hyun and Yoo Gil Chae in Part 2.

Lee Hak Joo, Lee Da In, and Kim Yoon Woo were all perfect for their respective characters in “My Dearest” Part 1. Thanks to them, the charm of each character and the immersion of the drama skyrocketed. Added to this was the strong presence of actress Lee Chung Ah, who made a distinct impression with her short appearance. With their characters and acting skills, they are sure to make Part 2 even more powerful than Part 1.
