Jamie Carragher has had his say on the Sancho to United transfer saga which has been on for ages.
The summer transfer window closes in 10 days. And Manchester United are still hoping to purchase Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
The deal’s potential soared around the entire summer. At the moment, Sancho’s transfer talk did not arrive at any conclusion. Football supporters are eager to see how the transfer ends.
Jamie Carragher questioned United’s choice to buy Sancho. In addition, the Sky Sports pundit analyzed the situation and how it will affect Mason Greenwood.
Consequently, Carragher commented whether Sancho is worth the money.
“United’s hesitation in meeting Sancho’s valuation so far in this transfer window feels like it is an attempt to reverse the culture of overpaying,” Carragher wrote in his Daily Telegraph column.
“As fine a player as Sancho is, is he worth £108m? And what impact would such a deal have on the game time of Mason Greenwood, who looks like the best young attacking talent in the country by some distance, scoring 17 goals last season?
“If United think Sancho is worth it, the deal should have been done already.
“What I cannot understand is if United do not think so, why haven’t they moved on?
“If the deal is not right, regardless of how much it upsets fans, walking away and buying an alternative target can be a sign of strength, not weakness.”
Although one thing is quite definite.
If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer manages to buy the England international, he will not get a chance to say that the club did not back him up.
Moreover, United did not make many signings this season. The Red Devils signed Donny van de Beek, but Sancho’s arrival will clarify the club’s intentions.
