Bruno on Ronaldo – He makes any team stronger

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the pitch on Tuesday after sitting out Portugal’s encounter against Croatia in matchday 1 of Nations League Group A3 due to a toe infection.

The number 7 marked his return in style scored both the goals in the 2-0 victory against Sweden, reaching a new personal landmark in his international career.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner earned much plaudits after scoring his 100th and 101st goal in Portugal colors, with Brazil legend Pele also sending him a congratulatory message.

His brace also saw Portugal maintain their lead in Group A3. A better goal difference keeps them atop despite being level on points with France.

A national teammate of Ronaldo, who followed a similar career path as him, joining Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon, insists that the 35-year old can still prove to the difference-maker in matches.

“We know that [with Ronaldo] it is easier to reach the goal. He has a nose for goal and can solve a game at any time,” Bruno Fernandes said of his captain, as beIN SPORTS reports.

“That was what happened before half-time, in a free-kick situation. Just yesterday he had six or seven like that in training and today he did the same.

“It’s great to have Cristiano. He makes any team stronger.”
