Neither of Tottenham or Manchester United were able to break the deadlock after each scoring once as last night’s clash between them ended in 1-1 draw.
Steven Bergwijn fired home a stunning shot that went brushing off David de Gea‘s gloves to give the home side the lead. Bruno Fernandes then managed to salvage a point for his side, sending Hugo Lloris the wrong way and converting a second-half spot-kick.
Fernandes almost had the opportunity to put United on the front foot from another penalty, but the penalty decision was overturned on VAR review.
Both Man United and Spurs retain their positions in the Premier League table for now. However, it appears unlikely they can hold onto their ranks following the conclusion of matchday 30 in entirety.
“I think we did very well. It was a difficult game,” Fernandes told Sky Sports.
“We started good with our ideas, but then they scored on the counter, but I think we were all the time in the game. We scored, we had a lot of chances to score more.
“It’s not enough for us, because we want to win every game, but still it is a good result. We are not happy but it is a good result.”
