Benfica have confirmed that they have received an extraordinary €126M million for Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.
The 19-year-old had a breakout season at Benfica last season, scoring 20 goals in 43 matches including 15 goals in the league, helping the Eagles win the title.
Felix attracted the interest from a host of top European clubs including the both Manchester clubs with whom he was strongly linked.
This is why all the big clubs are fighting over João Félix. 🔥

The move was put off due to Benfica not accepting anything less than the release clause of Joao Felix set at €120M.
But it’s Atleti that have agreed to pay €126M, €6M more than his release clause as the offer is divided in installments, it doesn’t trigger the release clause.
Benfica officially confirm Atletico Madrid made a 126M€ offer for João Félix, which is under consideration. Félix has a 120M€ release clause, but this offer is divided in installments and therefore doesn't trigger it. pic.twitter.com/qamORZsOP3

The ball is in now Benfica’s court and if they accept the offer,it will make him the fifth most expensive footballer of all-time.
There are reports that superagent Jorge Mendes has helped broker the deal, despite not being Felix’s agent.
And that he is going to earn a whopping £32.18m if the deal goes through.
Felix can play on either wing, or centrally, and made his Portugal debut in their UEFA Nations League semi-final win against Switzerland.
However, his performance was slightly underwhelming, and he was ultimately dropped for the final.
