Karim Benzema netted in the dying minutes on Sunday, after Vinicius Junior had given them the lead, to guide Real Madrid to a 2-0 win against Levante and to the top of the La Liga table.
The French forward’s late strike was the 250th goal he had scored wearing the famous white jersey.
Benzema’s new tally makes him the fifth highest goalscorer in the history of Los Blancos behind Cristiano Ronaldo (450), Raul Gonzalez (323), Alfredo Di Stefano (308), and Carlos Santillana (290).
The 32-year old has had an illustrious 11-year career at Santiago Bernabeu so far, having won 19 major trophies including four Champions League and three La Liga titles.

“I feel very happy and very proud of my goals,” Benzema said, talking about his most recent achievement in a video posted on the club’s official Twitter.
“[I’m] also [proud] of the play [we produce] at this moment at the club, because for me it is an honor and I will work to continue scoring goals.
“People see football differently and there are many who only pay attention to the goals, but there are more things like the movement or the passes.
“I am a forward who can score goals too.”
