Although the return of the prodigal son Neymar to Barcelona seems further away than ever right now, it will always be a possibility.
The Blaugrana have been linked with Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez of late more than the Brazilian PSG superstar Neymar.
The idea of both players arriving this summer would be a dream come true. However, given the current financial climate in football and talk of disarray within the walls of Barcelona, it is highly unlikely.
Retired Brazil international and one time Barcelona man Rivaldo thinks a player like Ousmane Dembele could play a huge role in Neymar’s return.
But if his old club is set on signing Argentine Martinez then the Neymar deal will likely go on hold.
Speaking to Betfair he said:
“There are rumors suggesting that PSG might be interested in Ousmane Dembele.”
“I believe this could be a good opportunity for Barcelona to finally bring Neymar back.”
“Of course, Barca will need to pay some additional money to pull off the deal, but I think this could be a mutually beneficial piece of business for both clubs.”
“Barcelona seems to be keen to sign Lautaro Martínez and he is a great player that could fit in well at the club, especially as he is still young.”
“Barca’s interest in Lautaro could mean that the club has to give up on Neymar’s signing.”
“I think it is almost impossible to sign both players at the same time.”
