Barcelona undecided over Thiago and Wijnaldum

Ronald Koeman will hope the Barcelona chiefs let him get his way with Georgino Wijnaldum.

The Dutchman is in the final year of his contract at Liverpool and has been linked with an exit. A reunion with Koeman now at Barcelona is well on the cards.

Elsewhere, Thiago has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months. However, the Premier League champions are struggling to meet Bayern Munich’s £27m asking price in the current climate.

And according to Sport Bild, Barcelona chiefs are determined to bring the Spain international back to Catalonia in the summer transfer window.

New boss Koeman, however, would prefer the club to sign Wijnaldum from Liverpool instead.

The 57-year-old knows the Liverpool man well from his time in charge of the Netherlands.

Nevertheless, Barcelona officials have reportedly put pressure on him to change his mind amid their desire for Thiago to return.

Some reports in Spain also suggest the Bayern star could consider a return to Camp Nou.

He is a product of Barcelona’s La Masia academy, emerging from the famous youth setup to make 235 appearances for the club.
