Barcelona has been offered the greatest shirt sponsorship deal in sports history.
The cash-strapped La Liga heavyweights have been in grave financial straits, with a whopping £1.2 billion debt.
Despite their financial difficulties, Barca continues to receive sponsorship interest ahead of the expiration of its contracts with Rakuten and Beko in six months.
VeganNation and Polkadot are two of the large names who have expressed interest in sponsoring Barca, according to Sport. Both firms are involved in the bitcoin sector, and the Blaugrana is said to be weighing both proposals before making a decision.
According to the article, the sponsorships may be worth more than €100 million, bringing much-needed cash into the club’s coffers.
Spotify is also apparently interested in becoming the club’s principal jersey sponsor, which would give up space on the sleeves and training uniform for additional sponsors. (Source: Sport)
Despite their persistent financial difficulties, Barcelona president Joan Laporta stated earlier this month that the team can compete with the world’s greatest clubs.
“Everyone in the globe should get ready because we are re-entering the market as major participants.” At the announcement of new signing Ferran Torres, Laporta declared, “Barcelona is back.”
“In the football market, we continue to be a reference,” he continued.
“Everyone else should get ready because we’re coming back.” Ferran is here because we are a reference point. “We’re resurfacing.” (Source: Marca)
