Reports of Lionel Messi to Inter surfaced yesterday after former Inter president Massimo Moratti made some eye-catching statements.
The Barca talisman will be out of contract at the club next summer but Marca claim those comments will not bother the club’s hierarchy.
Rather, the Catalan side’s drive to sign Martinez is strengthened because of compatriot Messi, who wants top players at the club in their bid to win a Champions League title.
In addition, the report claims Barcelona are confident their star captain will sign a new-deal and won’t be leaving next summer.
Rather than ponder on those Messi comments, the Barca hierarchy think Moratti’s statements were made to discourage the Spanish giants in their pursuit of Martinez.
