Mancini knows well enough about Balotelli and his abilities, having managed the forward during his stints at Inter and Manchester City.
Mancini is already weighing up his options and has now hailed the forward’s qualities but added that he hasn’t done enough to be in first team consideration for the Azzurri squad.
“For the qualities he had and has, Mario is among the best centre-forwards,” Mancini told Sky Sport Italia quoted by Football-Italia.
“But that’s not enough. He didn’t do much in Brescia this year either and he knows it.”
“His hope is to bring back the Mario from City or the Euro 2012. The doors are open for everyone.”
In a time where many Serie A clubs have been hit financially due to the ongoing pandemic, Balotelli is expected to leave Brescia in the summer, with the club reportedly not able to afford his wages anymore.
