Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th goal for Portugal and in doing so became the first European player to reach 100 strikes for his national side.
He reached the century with a terrific 25-yard free-kick which flew into the top corner.
But he scored an even better goal in the second half as he curled one from outside of the penalty area.
Ronaldo is now just seven goals from equaling Iranian Ali Daei’s record of 109 goals for Iran.
“I managed to beat this milestone of 100 goals and now (I’ll go) for the record,” Ronaldo said on his historic night.
“It’s step-by-step. I am not obsessed because I believe the records come in a natural way. When I had this problem in my toe I always knew that I could recover for this second game.”
“The future, only God knows. I am happy to play with these young players and I am enjoying a lot this moment both individually and collectively,” he added.
