Actor Ahn Bohyun and Lee Sungmin are teaming up with the writer of “The Nokdu Flower.”
According to a broadcast insider on March 29, Ahn Bohyun and Lee Sungmin are positively considering joining the cast of “The Bead of God,” which is likely to be scheduled on JTBC.
The historical drama “The Bead of God” also known as “God’s Bead” depicts the friendship and love of an expedition team searching for a national treasure.
Produced by Celltrion Entertainment, the drama is the latest work by writer Jeong Hyunmin, who previously wrote “Jeong Dojeon,” “Assembly,” and “Nokdu Flower.”
PD Jeong Daeyoon, known for directing JTBC’s “Reborn Rich,” MBC’s “I’m Not a Robot,” “She Was Pretty,” and “W,” will be at the helm.
Ahn Bohyun will take on the role of Baek Gyeol, a young man in charge of the escort team for the sacred Buddha statue.
He is the illegitimate son of Baek Chaseung, who oversees the military affairs of the seventh-ranked villa guarding the emperor.
Lee Sungmin will play Choi Koo, a star scout in the escort team for the sacred Buddha statue. His character has fought in numerous battles since his teens.
Meanwhile, after completing the drama “Flex x Cop,” Ahn Bohyun is set to meet audiences this year through the film “The Devil Has Moved In.”
Lee Sungmin’s recent movie “12.12: The Day” earned $97.5 million on the Korean Box Office.
