Cristiano Ronaldo has topped the votes for in the Player of the Year and Player of the Century categories in the 2020 Globe Soccer Awards.
42% of fans have voted for the Portuguese icon as the best player of 2020. Robert Lewandowski is second on 38% votes, with Lionel Messi completing the three-man shortlist on a mere 20%.
Ronaldo also tops the Player of the Century voting panel on an impressive 38%. His nearest challenger Messi only has 24% votes in comparison ahead of Mohamed Salah (23%) and Ronaldinho (14%).
Stage 2 of fan voting in the Globe Soccer Awards has officially ended after over 13 million votes.
Fan votes in the awards will account for up to 40% in the final verdict for the award winners. The jury votes, which make up the final 60%, are still being counted ahead of the award ceremony in Dubai on December 27.
Ronaldo and Lewandowski will both attend the ceremony at the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa, Dubai.
