Ronaldo – I have reached 100 goals next is Ali Daei’s record

Reigning champions Portugal made it back-to-back wins in the Nations League on Tuesday after a 2-0 win away to Sweden.

Ronaldo scored both goals in either half to ensure victory at the Friends Arena in Stockholm. He bagged his 100th international goal just ahead of half-time with a free-kick before firing another one in from outside the box in the second half.

It was an impressive return for Cristiano, who was a doubt heading into the fixture due to a toe infection.

“I am very happy,” said Ronaldo as quoted on BeSoccer.

“Firstly, because the team won, which was the goal we had. Then the 100 mark and then the 101, with two goals, makes me very happy.

“Now the future is only for God. I feel good, I feel good for playing with these young players.”

The 35-year-old is now just eight goals adrift of matching Iran legend Daei’s record tally of 109 goals in international football.

Ronaldo added: “I beat the 100-goal mark, and now it’s the record. It’s step by step, without making it an obsession.”
