Juve looked in control of the match as they were two goals up within just the first fifteen minutes. However, it was not long before they squandered their lead as Filip Djuricic, Domenico Berardi, and Francesco Caputo helped Sassuolo overturn the tie. Past the hour mark, Alex Sandro struck to salvage a point for his side.
The Bianconeri are now without a win in their last three league matches. Their recent inconsistency has helped second-placed Atalanta to close the point gap against them to seven.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after the match, Maurizio Sarri expressed his disappointment over Juve’s inability to close down the opponent attackers.
“A coach expects consistency from his team, it’s something we’ve been lacking both physically and mentally,” said Sarri.
“Any team becomes dangerous if you let them pass it around in our final third.
“At times, I get the feeling this team has enormous potential. At other times, it leaves you perplexed, as it allows the opponents to enter the box far too easily. We need to find the right balance and that is not easy.”
