FC Barcelona dropped points for the third time in six outings since the restart of football as their match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday ended in a 2-2 draw.
Lionel Messi scoring his 700th career goal, Barcelona losing more ground in the La Liga title race, and a couple of controversial officiating decisions meant the match had no shortage of talking points.
But perhaps the most annoying takeaway for Barca fans was Quique Setien showing indecisiveness.
In a match that begged for adaptability, Seiten waited until the 90th minute to bring on Antoine Griezmann. Griezmann managed to register just six touches of the ball and, needless to say, failed to make any impact.
Reflecting on his former player’s late cameo, Diego Simeone suggests he was as surprised as anyone but said there was still ample time for him to influence the match.
Simeone said: “I am without words. Speechless.
“I don’t drive a truck, I drive a team of footballers who work for a major club like Atleti. In our team, three minutes can be decisive. We lost a Champions League final in the space of three minutes and for me, they are very important.”
