Barcelona lost ground in the Title race as they dropped two points away from home to Celta Vigo.
Barcelona Player Ratings
Ter Stegen – The German’s run of 499 minutes without a goal conceded ended today. He did commit and error with the ball at his feet but was still immense as he saved Nolito’s shot when the score was 1-2 and also late in the game. 8.0/10
Semedo – Decent game from him, added a lot of depth for Barcelona at the right. 6.0/10
Pique – The Catalan defender led the team with example and contantly took care of Aspas and Smolov, could’ve scored from a corner as he struck the crossbar. 7.0/10
Umtiti – Not his best game, doesn’t look confident on the ball at all. Was at fault for the first goal for Celta. 6.0/10
Alba – He looked fatigued in the game, didn’t have that unreal connection with Messi that used to devastate opponents. 6.0/10
Midfield
Rakitic – Celta’s first goal came through his sloppy pass but other than that another commanding game from him as he recovered a lot of ball and gave the team a nice balance. 8.0/10
Vidal – the Chilean fought all afternoon and helped out more in defensive transition than he did in attack. Looked like a headless chicken for spells due to his impulsive nature and willingness to run around the field. 6.0/10
Puig – really good game from the academy player especially in the first half. Defensively, he worked hard too. 8.0/10
Forwards
Messi – tried hard to land his 700th goal but didn’t end up with his name on the scoresheet. He did add two assists to his record though. 8.0/10
Suarez – His first two goals since his injury return. The Uruguayan is not 100% and even though he scored a brace, he lacked the conenction he usually has with Messi and those around him. 8.0/10
Ansu Fati – the academy player positioned himself on the left and gave depth and width to the team. Exhausted by the end and was switched off for Braithwaite . 6.0/10
Substitutes
Braithwaite – 5.0/10
