The Reds thrashed Crystal Palace 4-0 on Wednesday as the result meant that Manchester City needed to beat Chelsea to delay Liverpool’s title win.
However, Pep Guardiola’s men were unable to defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening as City lost 2-1 to the Blues.
The result means that Liverpool, who are on 86 points, have captured the Premier League title with seven league matches to spare.

City, who were hoping to secure the league title for the third consecutive season in a row, are a whopping 23 points behind Liverpool in the table.
Christian Pulisic opened the scoring in the first half for Chelsea before Kevin De Bruyne pulled one back in the second half with a sensational free-kick.
However, City would be reduced to 10 men late into the second half after Fernandinho scraped the ball off the line with his hand.
Willian stepped up and converted the subsequent penalty as Chelsea sealed all three points at Stamford Bridge.
