Lucas Piszczek still wants to continue at Dortmund

One of the most experienced players in the team, Lukasz Piszczek has enjoyed considerable success during his ten-year spell at Borussia Dortmund so far.

Piszczek has lifted Bundesliga title and DFB-Pokal trophy each twice while also guiding his side to the Champions League final in the 2012/13 season, which eventually ended in a defeat to rivals Bayern Munich, ever since arriving at Signal Iduna Park from Hertha Berlin.

The Polish right-back recently signed a one-year contract extension with Dortmund which will see him remain tied to the club until 2021.

He still remains a key member of the BVB line-up but with age not on his side, the 35-year wants to further strengthen his legacy by achieving as much as he can before hanging up his boots.

“I’m not mentally burnt-out. I’m still hungry and I still want to achieve something,” the club’s official website quotes Piszczek.

“I like stability in my life. It was a difficult step on a personal level to leave Hertha in 2010. I simply had to go to Dortmund.

“And why should I leave BVB? I’m already at a big club. A lot would have needed to happen for me to leave Dortmund.”
