Leverkusen and Voller have not given up hope of Kai Havertz staying at the club for at least another season.
20-year-old attacking midfielder Kai Havertz is the subject of interest from a host of Europe’s elite.
Bayern Munich is said to be monitoring his situation carefully, Manchester United are considering an offer and Chelsea are ready to pounce any minute.
However, his current employers are in no rush to sell their prized asset and are even hopeful they can convince the prodigious talent that at least his immediate future is with them.
Speaking to German TV channel ARD after the teams German Cup victory over FC Saarbrucken from which Havertz was rested, Bayer Leverkusen sporting director and German legend Rudi Voller insists he is hopeful.
Voller said:
“We haven’t given up hope that he’ll stay with us.”
“We try to give him every possibility that he can call up his qualities. He made that outstanding in the second half of the season.”
