A host of top European sides began to get attracted to Erling Haaland ever since he first started making noise during his time at RB Salzburg.
The teenager had scored 28 goals in just 22 matches across all competitions for the Austrian side. Among his goals, eight came in the Champions League, He also matched the record of Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski, Neymar, among a few other players, scoring in five consecutive matches.
Manchester United were understood to be the frontrunners for Haaland’s signing. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also reportedly met him in person in an attempt to lure him to Old Trafford.

Mino Raiola, his agent, recently revealed that the young striker also had offers from Juventus. But, he reasons, the 19-year old turned it down as they had different plans for his development.
“Why didn’t Haaland move to Juventus? They would have put him in the Under-23 squad,” Raiola told Italian daily La Repubblica.
