Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes feels Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible work ethic makes him the best role model for any young aspiring footballer.
Fernandes followed in Ronaldo’s footsteps and switched to Old Trafford in a €55 million move earlier in January.
Scoring twice and setting up his teammates thrice across five Premier League matches, the Portuguese has been a breath of fresh air for Man United. His arrival has also reignited the side’s hopes of finishing within a Champions League spot.
Talking to the official club website, the Portuguese talked about some of his early footballing idols.
“The one I liked to watch and follow was Iniesta,” Fernandes told. “Because Iniesta is a mix between an eight and a 10. It is a way I can do better, between eight and 10.
“I have a lot of players I like to see. For example, in my first few years, the player I think is the one everyone liked and always will like is Ronaldinho.
“After this, I have already said that Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the players. As a professional player, he is the best you can follow.”
