5. Jimmy McGrory – 408 goals

Jimmy McGrory is number five in Europe's top goalscorers list.

The Scottish forward was a beast in the box with nobody capable of matching his movements in front of the goal.

Jimmy McGrory was an inspiration for Celtic, not only on the pitch but off it as well having enjoyed a successful coaching spell. There have been very few like him and may never will be again.

Even to this day, McGrory remains as British football’s all-time record scorer in all competitions with 485 goals. Of course, 77 of them came in the Scottish Cup.

Josef Bican recorded many impressive goal records over Rapid Vienna and Slavia Prague between 1931 and 1948. He really was one of those unique attackers capable of scoring from just about anywhere.

His most prolific spell came at Prague, with a brilliant tally of 395 goals in 217 league games.

Bican is world football’s highest scorer in history having amassed 805 goals in all competitions throughout his career.
