Legendary footballer and former Barcelona player Xavi is the latest sports star to help out financially with the fight against coronavirus.
It is understood that the money will be used to help the medical center purchase much-needed materials and equipment.
A statement from the hospital in the Catalonian city said:
“Xavi Hernandez and Nuria Cunillera have made a donation of one million Euros to the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona. To face the COVID-19.”
“Thank you very much for your contribution and support to the #RespostaCoronavirus project.”
“The money will go towards the purchase of sanitary equipment for professionals and patients.”
