Recurring injuries have prevented forward Eden Hazard from making himself a favorite among the Real Madrid fans.
The Belgian was forced to miss three months of action after he suffered a knee injury following a tackle by national teammate Thomas Meunier.
Initially, the Belgian was believed to miss the entirety of this season but the pause in football due to coronavirus seems to be working in his favor.
Meanwhile, Meunier believes he is not the one to blame for Hazard’s misfortunes and insists he never wanted to injure him.
“I didn’t injure Hazard. He injured himself after making contact with me,” Meunier said, according to AS.
“It’s a nuance! I never want to do damage. Least of all to Hazard.
“I never had any doubts that he would play the Euros. It was really early, in December. At the start, it was two weeks, later two months, after that he re-injured himself.”
“But at no moment did I doubt it. If the Euros was on this year, he would have been there.”
