Manchester United are entertaining the possibility of signing Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale on a short-term loan deal. The club are planning to sign the Welsh winger on an initial season-long loan with an option to extend the deal for a further year.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping that now that Man United are back in the Champions League, they could benefit from having Bale, a seasoned winner of the competition, in the team. [The Sun]

Emiliano Martinez is close to completing his switch from Arsenal to Aston Villa as he seeks to find guaranteed first-team football. The Argentine goalkeeper has already agreed on personal terms with the Villains and is expected to earn around €65,000 (£60k) per week. His transfer, which could be worth up to €22 million (£20m), is now being finalized. [Evening Standard]
Spurs open talks for Milik.
Tottenham have made advancements in their pursuit of Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik. The London-based outfit have put forward a five-year contract worth €97,000-a-week (£90k) along with a €5.4 million (£5m) signing-on fee on the Polish marksman’s table.
Spurs are also considering signing Milik, who has entered the final year of his current deal, on a pre-contract agreement in January with the intention of avoiding paying any transfer fees to Napoli. [Football Insider]
Napoli show interest in Deulofeu.
Watford attacker Gerard Deulofeu is a subject of interest for Napoli. The Serie A side have been an admirer of the 26-year old winger for years now and are finally looking to act on their interest. A loan deal with an option for a permanent move is being considered.

Man City bid for Gimenez.
Manchester City have tabled an €88 million offer for Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez. The offer also includes a further €5 million in add-ons. However, Atletico do not seem interested in letting go of the 25-year old center-back, who has a €120 million buyout clause on his current contract which will run through to 2023. [AS]

FC Barcelona is closing in on completing the signing of Memphis Depay from Olympique Lyon. The Dutch winger has been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou ever since the appointment of Ronald Koeman at Barca. The transfer could be made official in a week. [De Telegraaf]
