12 years ago today, Ronaldo breaks Best’s record at Man United

Ronaldo boasts a feat of impressing at every club he has played at. His time at Manchester United represents the major stepping stone that saw him become the global superstar he is today.

2008 in particular, would turn out to be an impressive year for the Portuguese. Seeing lots of success with the team and on an individual level as well.

The 23-year-old (at the time) had scored a remarkable 31 goals in 36 appearances for United in all competitions.

Ronaldo needed only two goals to break George Best’s 40-year-record of 32 goals in 52 appearances as h/t by National.

The Portuguese bagged a brace in that fixture, including a superb free-kick that was the talk of the season as well.

It saw Ronaldo break George Best’s record, scoring 33 goals already with 16 games to spare.
